Missing sensor? (CTscott)

The front bumper cover and splash guard under car has taken many hits and the last one was pretty major. I was going 70 MPH and hit something in the dark on interstate and broke splash guard and it came down and rubbed on left front tire for about a mile before I could stop. I already had a plug from something hanging down in the front. I was pretty sure it was for the fan to come on and off. I finally got under to zip tie the plastic up away from tire and now I see the plug just hanging. This if you look under by left front tire had a plastic tube it ran through and holds on by a snap clip to the splash guard. What does it do? So far my car has been running fine.

That was probably the ambient temperature sensor for the AC.

10-4. Thought it was so now what will it effect being broken? My fan is cycling on and off with A/C on. Do I need to replace it?

I don't think it is completely critical. I believe that its primary purpose is to allow the AC ECU to decide when it needs to supplement the heater with the PTC (electric) heater.
