Need Someone to Test Fit VIS CF Hood

Hello everyone. Recently VIS released an OEM CF hood for the Yaris sedan. My rep is unsure if they made the right one for the liftback/hatchback though as they have it listed as a 4 door liftback.

I'm looking for someone local to So. Cal who might be interested in spending a little time at VIS and doing some test fitting. I need one sedan owner and one hatchback owner. If interested and for taking the time you will have the option to purchase the hood for a discounted price, plus they will ask for your permission to take pictures. Your picture will be used in their website and in ad magazines such as Super Street, Import Tuner, etc. (Don't expect a one page feature. Just a small pic of your car along with many others in their ads).

Anyone in So. Cal interested please PM me so we can discuss this further. Mods I hope I haven't broken any rules by posting this. Just need 2 volunteers for test fitting. Thanks.

The yaris comes in a 4 door hatch, so this one will fit!!!!

Thanks.
This makes no sense, how could VIS make the hood, but they haven't test fitted it to the car???

We have used ViS Racing products in the past, with always a good fittment.

I understand. Sorry though. Seems like most shops are either in So. Cal or scattered throughout the east coast.

They buy the OEM parts and use that to make their mold. For an OEM hood they usually just purchase the hood from the parts department and have it made from that.

As far as the 4 door liftback goes... I've seen pictures of one, but I've only seen the sedan and the 2 dr hatch in person at the dealership. Where are the 4 door liftbacks from?

"4 Door" liftbacks are from every where but the U.S., but they are considered 5 doors

That's good to hear. They asked me to ask around and see if someone wants to test fit it to be 100% sure.

So far I have the SEDAN area confirmed. Still looking for someone with the hatchback/liftback. I have one tentative person, but haven't heard a reply or confirmation yet.

The only difference I would see if they were making CF doors or something like that since the JDM Vitz comes 4 door.

Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, I'm still a noob to the Yaris world.

Hmmm I think you mean the other way around.... The HB/LB exists in 3 and 5 doors, and this would be what the CF hood is designed for, but the sedan has a very different hood.

Anyway be sure to get the cars to test, and... PICS!

Here's a good Q ... how much will these go on the market for?

Now here's something I don't get. I see the Seibon hood going for over $500. The hood for the LB is half the size of any other car that is on the road today. Why is the price still just as high as the others? I mean you are literally using half of the material that you would for any other car no? So wouldn't that make the hood more affordable?

Anyone else feeling me on this one?

This tiny little Yaris hood should be know where near that....... i would hope not anyway.

I totally understand, but I think it's mostly because it's a "New Item". The manufacturer sets the price point, and these gradually comes down as the demand goes down for them.

I'll get the price for you. Is the SEIBON hood $500 plus shipping? I can get them to you for probably less shipped or so through VIS as I'm running a GB for the Honda/Nissan folks on other forums although I've been able to attach different makes and models for those interested. I don't want to post any info here out of respect for your site supporters/vendors.

Is there really that much demand for a $500 Yaris hood? I don't see anyone here buying them.

Price follows demand, but demand follows price too. At $500, there won't be any... unless you're Hyde or ism3t and wipe your ass with greenbacks.

Yeah check these auctions out ....

$448 + $150 for shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...spagenameZWDVW

$561 shipping included
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yaris...spagenameZWDVW

I see there's VIS already on E-Bay but at a slightly cheaper price then Seibon

$375 + $150 for shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-08...spagenameZWDVW

Not to be an ass but even the LB hood is smaller than the sedan so wouldn't there be a price different there as well??
