Most all Toyotas take a number "35" battery and this includes the Yaris.
This is an industry designation and any manufacturer's #35 will fit.

The official Optima red top number is "35 (8020-164)".

I have had an Optima red top (#35) in my Celica for about 5 years now and it's still going strong.
My Celica has a high end sound sys and the red top handels it all.

I highly recomend them and I will be replacing my Yaris' stock battery with one when the time comes.

BTW, be sure to get the (free) "height adaptor" with the red top as without it, the battery may sit too low for the hood support rod clip to function properely. The hight adator wiil bring it up to stock hight.

Here's where I got mine. Not the cheapest but, they ship free.

Has anyone installed the Optima 35 into a 2007 Sedan? If so, is it a drop in fit, no modification required?

I agree, but would change 'any manufacturer's #35' to 'ALMOST any manufacturer's #35' ----- see my post on 'How long should an original battery last' post #59 and my post on 'Buying aftermarket battery' thread - post #7.....Wal-Mart's #35 that is supposed to fit in my Yaris doesn't fit.

Any thoughts on this? Just make sure it comes with the height adapter?

I don't know about your fitment issue because i haven't put one in my Yaris yet, but I highly recommend Optimas. The last red top I had in my truck lasted 8 years, and needless to say it got replaced with another red top.

Just curious, how long (mileage and time) has your 'current' (pre Optima) battery lasted? (If I remember correctly, you have 300K + miles on your Yaris)

My 2002 Echo still has the OEM battery at about 77.5K miles. Not bad at all, I had a similar battery life with the OEM battery in my 1990 Hi-Lux .... it lasted 10 years. Note both batteries were Panisonic's I believe.

The Panasonic batteries are excellent, but the FG's are not. I just replaced Crashy 2's OEM FG battery today with a Napa Legend Model 7535 battery.

I have never had a battery go South as quickly as the FG did. Yesterday morning I noticed that she was not cranking over well and after running to Starbucks and back home I figured it would be charged up. I ran out at lunch time and she had even more trouble cranking, so when I got back I tested the alternator and checked the terminals and the fuse between the battery and alt and all was fine. I put a charger on the battery and last night it started normally. This morning it wouldn't even turn the engine over. When I pulled the FG out, I tested it with a Snap-On battery load tester and it was definitely bad.

The answer is yes. It drops right in to the sedan with the use of the supplied height adapter.

Fit perfectly fine in mine was strait drop in. But yes you do need the height adaptor to lift the battery up so that the hold down will fit. I plan to get hood shocks eventually and then use a custom billet battery hold down once I am able to ditch my hood rod.

Are these "height adapters" available in the aftermarket? I recently replaced my battery and rigged up a spacer for under the clamp to secure it in position but would like a proper solution.
