Front brakes lasted 168000kms

Just replaced front discs and pads at 168000kms on my 08 Yaris sedan, rear brakes still good for a while, i'm sure some of my old GM products i would have been on my 3rd set of brakes by now..

I was just about to start this thread... I just took mine in to be replaced at 183k miles. I'm mostly highway and hardly sit in any traffic ever. The tech said they had some small cracks so I decided to replace them - otherwise they still had 40% left

My Sunfire had to have brakes every 75k-80k miles like clockwork

IIRC, mine had more than 60% left 18k miles ago (at 274k). Trini didn't have to touch his brakes until 400k. I'm not going to try that.

Changed my front pads at 125k Km. 30% highway, 70% suburban and small city driving.
Rear brakes half done at this time.

I think you're on the right track. IIRC, we've only had 3 times whern snow stuck for a day in the last 6 years...and it didn't stick on the roads. Also, I've only seen the roads 'treated' once (over one weekend) in the last 6 years. I know the OP likes Florida, but I don't know if he 'wiinters' there or spends enough time that it might help extend the life of his brakes.
