Time to change clutch?

So a few days ago my car biting point was low (pedal near the floor) and suddenly it started to get higher (pedal halfway). The biting point feels soft like it's slipping. I have a Luk clutch that i bought at amazon just in case since I bought the car used :/ Just for curiosity, are these signs that the clutch at some point is going to fail?

Also, is $300 fair enough for a clutch replacement (labor) in 1 day?

If it is not slipping when in gear and driving, don't change it.

Me personally I want to change it before it start slipping more since I use the car daily for work (100+ miles), probably i can get a few miles from it (5,000 to 10,000)

I was reading post that sometime it's caused by the master cylinder or slave

if you accelerate up to 6k rpm in first, and quickly change into 2nd gear letting off the clutch very quickly and the revs go down slowly instead of instantly then the clutch is going bad. another thing you would notice is the car shudders if you use too much throttle getting off the line.

i forgot to add the biting point shouldn't change within just a few days, look up at your pedal box, and if you see liquid (often blue, green or mustard yellow) coming from where the pedal connects to a push rod that goes into a black rubber ring, then your master cylinder is bad... under the hood, have a look at your slave cylinder and squeeze the rubber boot hard and thorough, like your trying to juice an orange. again if said liquid comes out then it means a new slave is on order.

Actually how I test a slipping clutch, stand still and rev to 3500rpm and dump the clutch in 3rd. It you don't stall, then your clutch is definitely slipping.

I bleed the slave cylinder with help (someone pressing the clutch pedal). The biting point return to normal (for me)

As for the clutch, in first gear if i take the clutch pedal out o know is going to stall since the car shudder
