Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust??

I found this on ebay and was curious if anyone has bought it.
Looks like it'll flow better than stock, but remain stock sounding.

Thanks

It shows up in the Compatibility list. However, said list says compatible with both hatch and sedan, so

The hangers, flange, and axle bend do look very much like OEM for hatch.

Walker aka Dynomax, makes both oe replacement and performance exhuast, one of the biggest manufacturers in the business. This looks like an oe replacement, not a performance piece.

Yeah it doesn't look like it's for performance, but it should flow a bit better than the stock. I'm just wanting to know how the fitment is.

Why would an OE replacement "flow better than stock"? It's a stock replacement.

It's not a stock replacement! I'm guessing you don't know what the stock muffler looks like. The stock muffler has the inlet and outlet on the same end and this one is more of a straight through. Also I'm not trying to gain performance with this. My car doesn't have a stock muffler anymore and this is cheaper than I have found a stock one at any at a junk yard.

I guess I'll just be the test subject on this one.

As someone who personally knows xixarchangelxix's car, I have to giggle over that statement.

It's cheap enough, might as well.

Walker makes OE replacement exhausts. Yes, it looks slightly different because of Toyotas design, however, Walker isn't out to replicate OE exhausts exactly, they are out to make money by providing a replacement part or system that meets the requirements of OE specs. If you take the time to check their site, you will find that part number is the OE replacement. They produce parts that are within factory spec... Meaning they will have the same flow characteristics and noise level, within an acceptable deviation, as the original part.

I worked in the part industry for years. I have lots of experience with Walker. I also know what the stock muffler looks like inside and out. Stock has a dual chamber with a small door that opens, the Walker won't because it's not cheap to make.

If you want a stock replacement that performs and sounds the same as OE at half the cost, get this muffler.

I just got this yesterday and it fits well. The only thing it seems to be lacking is the weld in nuts on the flang, but not a big deal to just some regular nuts. It's a little louader than a stock muffler, but not much.
