Rear bumper dent

Hi guys! I was hoping I could get some advice. Some a** hit my rear bumper in the parking lot while I was shopping and left a sizable dent in the corner of the bumper. I got around underneath, and it looks like I might be able to pop it out if I had some more leverage. I would like to remove the rear wheel splatter guard to be able to get at it, but I don't understand the plastic clips (rivets?) that are holding it in place. Has anyone had to do something like this before? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Here is a picture of the dent:

and here is a picture of the housing I would like to remove:

To remove the clips, press in on the center and then pull out via the outer edge. When you put them back in, push the center in so that it sticks up, stick the whole thing in the hole, and then press the center back down.

The other clips to worry about are the large plastic blocks under the edge where the bumper meets the rear fender. You need to release them (there are plastic tabs on the clip that go into rectangular slots in the bumper). You can release them with a tiny screwdriver.

I think that would pop out without too much trouble here are a couple of vids on it. HERE and HERE

Both were much more severe than what you have.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your parking lot mishap! I have one on my front because someone ran over something and I couldn't react in time to get out of the way. I may have to do the same thing and remove the under belly pan and see if I can pop it out as well!
