Digital Torque Wrench At Harbour Freight

HF has a new digital gizmo that turns your ratchet into a digital readout torque wrench. Very cool! (although I almost never use a TW)

HF now has stores almost everywhere. Its the ManCave of stores! They have every tool you could ever need and plenty of things you never thought you needed!

In my experience HF is hit or miss. You can get good stuff at cheap prices or you can get garbage at cheap prices, the thing is you just don't know.

I bought one of their $9.99 torque wrenches (1/2 ") just for $#!+s and giggles, figuring at that price why not. That thing is dead accurate. I have compared it to a Snap-On I have at work and it clicks at exactly the same settings.

Wow that's amazing I thought, so I went back and bought a 3/8" torque wrench. Complete garbage. It would not click at all. Back it went, got my money back, didn't want to chance another one.

The problem, as it is with almost all Chinese manufacturing, is quality control. China CAN build good stuff but their in-house QA is abysmal. They WILL cut every corner possible if they are not watched very carefully by outside QA.

As for HF, try your luck and be prepared to make use of their return policy.

That's sensible. But Ive used their wrenches, sockets, impact sockets, and ratchets and found them perfectly serviceable. Similar to Craftsman.

Oh and a lot of the stuff comes from India if that makes you feel better.

Good stuff at HF I've had experience with is their Pro ratchets (the new ones are nearly tool truck quality), pro impact sockets, tool boxes, tool cars, rear parking brake caliper tool (Mac was selling the same exact one under a different label for 3Xs the hf price), breaker bars, & those Honda knock off engines.
I use these two tools are used daily, I don't know where else to get them. The socket driver is extendable & has a 1/4 drive on the end of the ratchet.
