Do I own a sports hybrid yaris??? Please help.
Hello everyone.
I actaully have a couple of questions for the seasoned Yaris owner/researcher. I bought my car last summer and it is a base model, no bells and whistles. This style matched my ability to make monthly payments...and I figure that it'll cost less to repair later on. Anyway, because it is a base model, I thought that I would only have 14" tires - but I have 15". Does anyone else have 15" tires on a base model? Also, I noticed in the forum here a while back that the sport models have a tachometer and the non-sport ones do not. I do have a tachometer. It was my understanding that a manual transmission vehicle came with a tachometer, no questions asked. I have NEVER driven stick without being able to look at a tach. Do you think that I got a sport hybrid of sorts? Can anyone offer some insight or little bits of information? Thanks in advance!! |

You have a standard base-model, with 15's. Exactly what I got - 15" wheels, no tach, manual everything.
You will get used to not having a tach. Honest. |

canadian models from 08+ all have 15" rims on them now whether theyre base or RS models. 06-07 models came with 14's in the non-RS models
all canadian models from 06+ always have tachometer, unlike US models... so try not to feel too special, lol, you got what you paid for... welcome to the forum, where in ON are you?

Hehehe, thanks barber...I wasn't feeling special - just wanting to make sure that what I had was the base model - and not some sort of variation requiring extra costs in repair in the long run. I wonder why they don't put a tach on in the states.
I'm from Ottawa...see that you're in Fredriction! :) I have some family friends in NS. |

Simple answer to the question:
All the model in Canada 08+ have 15" wheel All the model in Canada 06+ have tachometer So all those on your yaris is standard for every base model in Canada.

Could be... ours was sitting on the lot for quite a long time before we bought it (below invoice).
