Ride of the Month

Searched the forum and didn't see anything, but I think it would be cool to do. It would promote mods and adding unique things to your car. I post at a motorcycle forum that does it, 4 entries a month. We have enough cars here with a lot of add ons that it could be done for a long time.

Another suggestion is no more than four pics.....Exterior front, side, back, and interior.

I believe it was hosted before prehack, and it is a great idea.

Even if there is no price involved, it would still be a good idea to just get people to participate for your yaris pride and fun.

But I suggest let's do a poll on the thread so everyone can vote, not just moderator since it is for fun only unless there is price involved.

The number of pics each person can submit should be limited though ie. 2-3 pics, so the whole thread will not be overwhelmed by too many pics and it is easier to make the decision.

There can also be like first, second, and third place winner each month, so everyone will be encouraged to enjoy their car to make it better.

Yea, it's a vote/poll process. Thought that would of been a given. Anyways, no prize needs to be given since it will be a monthly thing, unless someone wants to put up small things for prizes.

Your dead right it was just an innocent offer, to help boost the idea,
and maybe incourage those that would not normally participate to do so.

yeah I totally forgot we were doing this before the hack, shame on me!

Admittedly the process was a bit of a mess, we'll have to brainstorm a good way to handle this!

There can also be like first, second, and third place winner each month, so LANDSLIDE winners won't discouraged others from posting......

I think a good way is to have two threads. One used as a suggestion thread/poll with NO pictures. Say maybe 8 user options to get voted down to 4, then after a couple days of that poll, we could make the ride of the month thread which an admin/moderator will post 3-4 pics of each person's ride. Finally vote on the final 4 of each month in that thread.

Waaay back in the day, prehack...

I and a mod crew had setup something called "Yarisworld Spotlight"
It was a basic setup in which we would have members submit photos for a "panel", consisting of myself, moderators, and past winners to judge and vote whom they thought would be worthy of being named the Spotlight winner. At that time, we had prizes (Yarisworld Stickers) but when I stopped selling the stickers I wasnt able to give them out anymore.

Then it happened where too many people were getting upset over the process...So we revamped it. Made it where people would nominate a member of Yarisworld whom they thought would be a good canidate for the Spotlight winner, it ended up being a big popularity contest and failed too...

Kinda seems like 97% of the community would just be spectators in that setup.

participants can nominate themselves - everyone votes - you can only win once?? seems easy enough
