2010 A/C Compressor Clutch Issue
Hey guys,
I recently had an issue with my A/C system on my 2010 Yaris Hatch. Turns out the A/C system was added as an option when the original owner purchased the vehicle. Long story short, I brought the vehicle to Toyota dealership to diagnose the problem. The issue was a broken A/C Compressor Clutch. The culprit: My question is: Is it possible to replace solely the A/C Compressor Clutch or am I forced to purchase the whole A/C Compressor? I would of course love to keep all the parts OEM as I plan on driving this car until it drives to the ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wasn't able to find any threads related to the broken clutch. Thanks in advance guys. |

Georgetown. Toyota misdiagnosed my a/c issue. Told me my compressor was seized so I sourced a used replacement from a local YW member. Went back in for the work, they then asked why I wanted compressor replaced? Turns out the mechanic the second time in faulted the pressure sensor. 2nd mechanic was correct so I have a spare compressor

Obviously the Toyota dealership told you that just the clutch could not be replaced?

That's not surprising. I had to source my pressure switch from ebay. Toyota Canada could only provide the replacement part as an included component of the entire cooling line assembly. Parts cost would have been over $600 CDN.

I dont think you can get a genuine denso, then you will have to buy a complete compressor.
