new ecu

my blu logic stopped working with my phone (blackberry). brought it to the dealership for some other stuff so they take a look at it and said they had to replace the computer. so i figured it was the blu logic system. but turned out they replaced the cars ecu . will this have any effect on the car ? since its a new computer now . the bluetooth does work now so im happy for that and trust me i did everything possible to try to sync the bluetooth on my own before i decided to have them look at it . it just wasnt connecting out of no where i tried changing every setting on the phone but did not change any before it started not working

The blulogic system has absolutely no interconnection to the ECM. If they charged you the retail price for an ECM, then they are crooks.

Replacing the ECM will really not cause any issues. If you have an AT, then the new ECM has to learn your shift patterns. It will also reset the long term fuel trims.

i did not pay for anything related to this issue the reason i was there was for a plastic molding piece that goes inside the front fender (still robbery) it bent and was rubbing on the tire so i payed for that part but nothing else. and yes i dont understand how they changed the cars ecu and not jsut replace the blu logic system unless they explained it wrong . which is possible but i sort of did notice a tiny bit of a difference in shifting on the ride home but i might have been imagining although it made sense i wasnt driving how it has . so im gonna drive it like a mt to trick the ecu hahah

i guess so because they installed the bluetooth when i got the car originally but the other piece wasnt covered i guess cuz it happened when i drove through a puddle and i guess the force of water bent the plastic which i tried everything i could to bend it back and yes i could have just taken the whole thing off and tried to fix it but i was being lazy haha

they replaced the BLU LOGIC ecu which is a common failure. POST UP the part number off your bill and i'll bet its a PT923-00111-EM number....
