For info, someone else did that as well, with step-by-step guide available:

I went to my local DIY shop but couldn't find any paper filter of any sort, so I just bought a proper Yaris filter off eBay for £14 (incl. shipping).
The reason I was looking for changing my filter is that I just bought the Yaris this week, from a garage, and found out that the pollen filter was just not there at all!

I;ve since tossed the filter and now run without one, seems like a kinda pointless feature when i run with the windows down for most of the year..

I hear ya, but I tend to run with the windows up during dust storms, wildfire smoke, when I'm near diesel engines, construction sites, etc. I appreciate any filtration I can get during those times.

So that's great, a yaris filter will work so there's no need for a furnace filter
I have the same problem, my car was recently purchased, I am not the first owner and I had no idea about the false filter.
