Painting the lug nuts......is it possible?

(yes i searched through several pages of threads and couldnt find anything that goes into detail)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was originally going to buy black lug nuts from micro image until i noticed it would be around 80 some dollars to buy them all... and i was thinking if there was a cheaper route.

Is it possible to black out my lug nuts?
(i.e sorta like blacking out my emblems, sanding, primer, then base paint?)

im not very educated so please.....educate me
any help much appreciated! thank you in advance!

You could do that but id put about 3-4 coats on it and you might still have chance that it will chip

You could paint them, but when you install them you'll probably end-up chipping the paint off on the sides. Powder coating some would probably be more durable. But hey, paint in a can is a cheap way to try it out.

Have you thought about using one of those paint touch up pens? Just leave your lug nuts on the wheel, clean them well and then use the pen.

Just a thought. Good luck with your project though.
