Here we go......

I work at a Subaru dealership on Cape. 6 Months ago when I was looking for a new car, I looked at Yaris, but my dealership gave me an ok deal on a 2006 Impreza 2.5i wagon. Well, my insurance is higher then the empire state building and awd sucks up more gas than a hoover vacuum. I already own an 2005 Saturn Vue V6 awd and I maybe buying my buddies 1993 BMW 325i, so I want something that is good on gas and is smaller. So I am going back to the Yaris idea. They are running a deal right now for me, so hopefully next week I'll have one.

I do have a question for the guys who live in the snow. How is it in the snow? Right now it is 60 degrees here, so I am not to worried about it, but if it gets bad, should I get snow tires or will I be fine? Thanks and happy driving.

Seemed to do fine for what snow we got here this year.

For heavy snow I would suggest getting snow tires though... they are a good idea anyway... and the stock tires aren't the best in wet, or dry conditions.

Yeah, I was hoping to go with Works or black 15 or 16 inch wheels for the summer and geeting a good set of BFG tires for the steels on there. Our tire guy knows his stuff, so he gives goor recommendations for tires.

Ive had no problems in the snow and i'm running the stock 15" all seasons.
It would be better with good snow/ice tires but I've had no problems plowing through 15" of slooop crap.
It's not the best car I have driven but it's far cry better then some of the other cars and trucks I have owned.

Yeah, I test drove one, liked it more then the mini cooper, but got an impreza wagon instead. Wish I went with the yaris first, would have had it supercharged and all by now

Thought I would post a funny update. When I first started looking for a Yaris, they had three at the Toyota dealer down the street from my job. Now I have been told I may have to wait more then a month. Funny how it works when you get approved.

I finally had a chance to drive the car in some serious snow in the last few days. Keep in mind I'm on stock 14's. The car runs away constantly, but being 2200 lbs that isn't exactly unexpected. Keep it in third and its all good.
