I was able to put mine in the far corners inside the quarterpanels. Pretty much hidden from view unless you go searching.

Mine are 6000K

My wife's Tacoma is 8000K

Those look really nice guys. I am considering upgrading mine.

A few questions...

Can these HIDs go straight into the mirror housings?

What about glare and aiming?

Do you have to do anything to concentrate the beam?

Is the light range longer then a halogen bulb?

I think the beam pattern varies from kit to kit. My kit appears to give a much more concentrated beam pattern (close to stock), where you can easily see the cutoff. The light range is longer than when using halogen bulbs.

There is nothing stopping you from putting HIDs into the mirror housing, but it's obviously much better to retrofit projectors into the OEM housing - for a more evenly distributed beam pattern.

i have hid's in my oem headlights.....i find the yaris headlights do give off quite a lot of light due to the housing design....so i sometimes get flashed.....

that said, you can aim the headlights down a bit since the light is soooo much brighter than halogens...

I installed my hid kit last week.
the kit garm sells is pretty self explanatory and seems a whole lot easier than the kit you got? :S
as for the brightness,
I can see a whole lot better long range *duh* but terrible in rain and fog.
I still have a cut off although there is a lot of overspray of light compared to stock, the shields help a bit..... I've only been flashed once so far....

I have 6000k
and I just twist tied them to some of the oem wiring .... they are just chilling in there, LOL, I need to find a better way to mount them when it warms up as for now they just jiggle around.

:D

I'm concerned about visibility in harsh weather conditions. It snows for many months here, and rain and foggy many other times. Summer is OK, hot and sunny, but still rains enough to keep the grass green.

Since I've added my fogs and use Philips X-Treme Power H4 bulbs, I have no issues driving in any condition. The headlight beam is long and bright, but the color is slightly whiter than stock. This is why I was looking into HIDS, hoping to get the best of everything; color, brightness, and visibility.

I have no troubles seeing in harsh weather conditions with my 4300K HIDs. Colours which are too white (e.g. 6000K+), will reflect off wet roads, effectively reducing your visibility..

4300K is a nice clean warm white colour - when warmed up.
