Garm's hood seal install

I installed my hood seal "kit" that I got from Garm and I'm quite pleasd with the results.

One thing I did was to secure it at key points and the center with a few "black trim screws" I got at AutoZone. Since it is a stick-on seal, this prevents it from creeping out of place at the bends. I simply drilled a small pilot hole and inserted the screw.
The screws have a bulit in seperate washer and are black anodised.

The frontal shot shows how it gives the hood/bumper gap a nice finished look.

Thanks.

Since the seal is stick-on, you are able to reposition it if at first you are not satisfied. You want to close the hood to see how it looks before settling on a final position.
You also get enought to make seal around the headlights, You just have to trim it a bit to make it narrower.

BTW, you can see my Celica getting into the act in the upper right corner of the frontal shot.

Very nice. This would help keep the dust off the engine

You get a 6 foot length of the seal and cut it to fit yourself.
So, it should fit the sedan also.

Price is $29 shipped..

look good.. i think if you head to lowe's at the weather strips you migh find something that you might use. and i think youll spend something like 17 buck for like 26 feet. and, the snap pins are like 89 cents for a couple of them.

Most cars have a front hood seal. It help keeps the engine bay a bit cleaner.

its probably good for aerodynamics too. guys will tape up the front of the car, covering the seams and cracks to improve front end aerodynamics. it works, but with a car like ours, it may do very little or it may do alot, idunno. but every bit helps, i like the part!

id love to see what it would do to lap times combined with the front diffuser!

I installed mine the other day. Sorry no pics yet, but it really is a nice cheap mod. I didn't use any screws or what-not as the sticky tape seems to hold well enough if you clean the area first.

Yeah, it probably does not need the screws. It's just cheap and easy insurance that it will stay in place. Some factory front hood seals use the same arangement using the same type of screws.
