No issue with amsoil.

I used Castrol at first then quick switched to Royal Purple. Now I'm running Amsoil and it's been so much better.

Was there a big difference between the RP and the Amsoil? I can easily purchase RP from my local CT but if Amsoil is better than I may try and source it.

FWIW, I'm currently running Redline 75w90 GL-5, it shifts smooth but still grinds the odd time in reverse.

What do you mean by "it doesn't feel as smooth"? likely an issue with the fluid or amount, could be your flywheel/clutch but less likely

Ive been running amsoil for over 100k in my trans with no issues.

Your clutch may be on its way out. Shifting tends to get notchy when its near the end of its life

It's normal to grind shifting into reverse.

I did not have the correct RP oil, so things were not better than Castrol. I had the RP synchromesh gear oil, which wasn't really meant for our transmission.

I used to grind 3,4 and 5th gear up shifts when reving high. As soon as I put Amsoil in, no more. Just going from 3rd to 5th but now that we talk about it, I haven't heard it grind doing it anymore.

I still have some random grinding going into 1st from a rolling stop, but it's rare now.
