What's your Yaris manufacture nationality??

Let's start a new thread and find out which is the most common manufacter of the car and which is the most reliable so far.

Starting by me:
2009 Yaris 5-door HB built in France.
107.500km so far and no issues whatsoever.
So I consider a reliable manufacter so far.

(Check your vin number here:
https://vindecoder.eu/toyota
And find out where your car is coming from)

My 2014 LE was built in France. As of yesterday, it had 55555 miles... with no issues whatsoever. However, I would say my 2007 built in Japan Yaris was a better built car with better material quality.

My 2006 5 door was built in Japan. From what i can tell the majority of them were made in France. I'm really curious as to where the engines came from in the Jap made models sold in the Euro market. If they had polish made units which comply with euro emissions or Toyota source them from another engine plant somewhere in Japan or Asia.

Mine has done 130,000 miles. I've had a water pump, exhaust, battery and an alternator (bad voltage regulator) in that time. I'm pretty happy. She's never stranded me. Always starts and gets me around until i got her fixed.

2014 SE. Made in Japan. 20K miles. Currently in the shop for a clicking noise in the rear and a clunking noise in the front. No other problems.

I have only changed the battery. 107.500miles so far. Made in France. Makes me wonder if you had bad luck or the France yaris is tougher.

Well the exhaust rotted out by the back box after about 8 years, I had it all replaced as the rest didn't look so good. We do get a lot of salt on the roads in the UK. Toyota's had a problem with water pumps failing around that vintage. Something used to cause the bearings to go.

The thing I was slightly disappointed in was the alternator. I'll chalk it up to bad luck. The voltage regulator went bad, but I was able to drive it around for a few weeks till I got it repaired.

My cousin had a 56 plate French made 5 door Yaris with the 2SZ engine and oddly enough it still has the original water pump (unless it got done before she got it). She has had a battery, exhaust and starter motor in that.

Out of the 3 Yarii we have, the 2012 is Japanese, the 2014 is French, and the new 2016 is French.

I still have the original water pump too. I hope it won't fail me :(

Using the tool linked by the OP, my Yaris was built in Nagakusa, Aichi, Japan. It also says my car is automatic, which it's not, so for what it's worth, the tool is not 100% accurate.

I've had to replace the water pump, driver side axle seal, alternator and starter. Still on the original brakes at just under 70k miles on the clock.

^ the vin tool will always be accurate when it comes to country of origin as the plant is identified by the value of a fixed position in the vin.

Its possible it got built, had issues and then went into major rectification (or whatever Toyota call it) for some reason and got a manual gearbox installed and earmarked for a different market after it got worked on? All regular consumer grade stuff is much better in Japan because that's what Japanese consumers expect. If something had an issue they might just say - Fuck it. Send it to the US market or the Euro market.

That would kind of blow, but I'm thinking it's more likely the tool is just incorrect on that piece. Either way, aside from the known stuff, the car's been good to me, so it is what it is
