Will a 5-door roof rack work for a 3-dr hatchback? 2006.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia and I recently bought a 3-door 2006 Yaris hatchback. I can get a roof rack for the 5-door hatch for $150 AUD. The cheapest rack for the 3-door hatch is $300 AUD.

Now, roof racks aren't rocket science. Has anyone used the 5-door kit for their 3-door Yaris? Maybe bent some of the metal clamps to fit better? Added some thick rubber padding to make it mate better against the metal?

The item numbers for the front and rear clamp parts seem to be the same for both the 5-door and 3-door Yaris, which makes me think that the differences aren't that huge and I could probably get away with kits for a 5-door:
