DFW AutoX

FYI - It'd be cool to see some other Yarii at the Mineral Wells Autocross this weekend. I'll be out there on Sunday, but they are running it both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Well, I represented at the Mineral Wells AutoX...First in Class for HS (H stock). I actually threw my dealer tire/wheels back on (only 200 miles on em!) so I could stay in stock class. They did a good job, but definitely shredded the sides nicely. It shouldn't take too many events to junk them enough to justify buying some track tires. Lots of people were pretty blown away at how well she took the track. Definitely need a front sway bar upgrade!
If anyone is in DFW, there is another at LaGrave Field next weekend!
Pictures soon.

Hey congratulations! I was the only Yaris at the California Speedway autocross yesterday.

I was so slow, they thought I was a hypermiler that got into the wrong event.

I say we just keep showing up! someone claimed they were going to bring a Fit next time to challenge me...I really hope they do. Someone else claimed HS stands for "Hella Slow", but I ran better times than several of the G Stock and F Stock cars did on their slower runs. A little more experience and some R-compound tires on the front, and I think I can get into contention in the PAX. :)

Mineral Wells Autocross

I'll try to be at the Equipe Rapide event on March 8th 2009. I have some TRD parts and Konig Wheels/Kumo tires. I have to check the rules but last year I ran an event as STS. Kumos count as street tires and work good on a track (I had use them at Cresson on a R32 volkswagen a few years ago). I'm going to add the NST pullies soon and seats etc later. I'm using Amsoil racing synthetic and an AFE intake. It's a fun car and gets alot of looks as it is covered in graphics for my karting school Truracing.com and other stuff. I love to drive the clover leaf type on and off ramps around Euless. Send me an e-mail. I'd like to get a local Yaris club going!

sorry for the noob question. Why is there blue tape on your fender wells?
Is it to prevent tire rub?

Great looking car lazerdot! You should try to come down to Houston for one of our drift demos and bring your car with you. I would love to chat with you regarding your kart school, your car, and your plans for it.

I hope you can make it down for this...

We go all over the country during the year, although we have yet to visit the Dallas area.

We could be persuaded to host/do something in the DFW area if we have the support of your community members here at some of our Houston events.

OZMDD,
Are you able to make a trip to Houston? Also, are you planning on going to Mineral Wells on the 8th of March for the equipe rapide autox? I'm hoping to find a group of Yaris owners that would like to do some events such as that as well. I'm hoping my wife will let me get the NST pully kit this month..., ya I know, and by the way NST do you plan on a radiator deflector under panel for the yaris? What else is in the works for us?

Hey OZMDD , you won't like what happens if you only get R compounds for the front only . Check out these vids . One is a buddy of mine who tried what you are thinking . Look for the red Integra about 3/4 of the way through . The other is a top 10 pax run on 4 Hoosiers in a Yaris LB
