Don't do it your self unless you're an expert. Otherwise you will have it too loud, makes noises when you don't want it and you'll spend more money trying to fix and change it. Look at Micro Image for some ideas or even a full exhaust from them. Just so you know, theres very little you can do to actually improve "performance". The tuning, which you'll have to get a fuel controller to fix, is the down fall for any improvement. Just keep that in mind.
I did notice a large change in MPG after changing the stock air filter though. |

What brand do you recomend? I also heard modifying the stock airbox unlocks some pony's, is that true...or is that a wives tale?

anything that allows the car to breathe better will create some power. (Especially since it tends to want to run rich). Short ram / opening the airbox up / cold air intake / larger throttle body -- all help do the same thing.
As for fuel controllers, CamCon, eManage and AEM FIC have all been used successfully to tune the Yaris.

URD makes a MAF Sensor Calibrator that works great for controlling fuel.

Well as you guys know, im a subaru tech. The subarus have 3 different injector pulse widths,30%-50%-100%.These durations are specific for idle, cruise, and wide open throttle. The point im getting at here is:The yari are known to have a "rich" fuel mixture,is this information drawn from dyno results...durring WOT?
