DIY Cruise Problem

I did the DIY Cruise on my 07 yaris 5 speed about a year ago.. Worked great for a couple months. Now when I pull out of the garage in the morning for my 81 mile commute the cruise works (usually all the way to work) the next morning (I work 24 hour shifts) when I get in the car it may or may not work... If it does work it probably won't within 30-40 mins. Seems to be heat related- ie- when the motor gets hot it doesn't work. I've checked my connections and everything is soldered. Anybody seen this before or have any ideas? This really sucks when I make the monthly 4 hour drives to the beach, which is the main reason I wanted it..
