DIY: Free Shorty Antenna Mod!
Now there is a back story to this mod
well today me and my beautiful but pain in the ass girlfriend are teachers so today was a 1/2 day and now we are off for the next week for spring break (woot) so i figured, hey i would shine up the yaris and take it to one of the car cruises. so my g/f has a TC shes been working on wait wait (ive been working on but she owns) now said TC sits in the garage never driven for now. So i spot a nice S2K antenna im going to steal wait i mean borrow for this car show. so she notices its on my yaris and tells me to take it off, maybe if i asked first, blah blah blah (insert random woman babbling here) so i say fine i dont need your stupid S2K shorty antenna, so i grab my wire cutters and cut mine at the base, use a little black paint at the top and stick it on her mouth drops to the floor, radio works fine and she gotz servedz Clif notes: men > Woman For Life! Here are the pics: ohh i forgot blah blah blah not responsible for cutting fingers, limbs, setting house on fire, running over grandparents/ babies and most of all destroying your 20ft high sears tower stock antenna post comments readddddddddddddddddddddddddddy go! |

It took my buddy about 3 weeks to notice that I swapped my Yaris for his S2K antennae

You did lose reception capability... you are lucky and live close enough to the local towers that you didn't need the full length. when you go on trips however, your radio won't pick up stations as long as it used to, and your quality will degrade sooner. with that said... i'd be tempted to do this...however, the deck i'm going to install doesn't have the strongest FM reception to begin with and I'll wait till I install it before I start playing around with smaller antennas |

not really a big deal since i can make an MP3 Disk
i rarely listen to the radio as it is but i do not have an antenna on the radio in the garage and i dont get certain stations but i can pick them up clear as day in the yaris with the antenna cut maybe my yaris and TaKuto's are above the laws of physics i'll alert the text book makers |
