Lightweight battery install

Well, I did some research and came up with what is pictured here. Battery is a Deka EXT20L from East Penn Manufacturing which is also labeled as Big Crank, another which I shall not name and more. Cost for this model (15lb) was 69.95 shipped. Procured the tray (aluminum), modified it somewhat and secured it to the factory tray using one of the trays original bolts and added 1 grade 8 hex bolt/nut & washer. Fabbed the cross bar hold down out of aluminum stock and managed to find a suitable means to secure my stock hood prop. Final addition will be to wire for plug in Battery tender.

Update: No need to wire for tender. Our lighter plug is hot with key off so a plug in adapter for the Battery Tender is on its way. Bingo

Looking sharp!
Very clean installation.
I like how you keep your engine compartment surgically clean.

I'm thinking SOOO hard about buying one of these after I finish the stereo.. OHHH. I'm just afraid the stereo will be too much. I will only have 500rms (to my front speakers, 3 way components) no subs... but still... 500rms might be a bit much without a battery with a good reserve. Good thing I got a manual.. can always push start I guess.

Update again....Well I found out that our cig. lighter is not hot when the car is off. No problem....I am wired now with Deltran's fuzed wiring accessory that remians fastened to the battery. My shop was wired with a seperate receptacle for plugging in the Battery Tender Jr. that operates on its own switch. Now when I park the car I just open the hood, grab the lead plug it into the tender lead and flip the switch. Works like a champ. Pics if wanted.
