Shift Knob for automatic

I have a Yaris sedan, automatic. The shift knob is so plain. Will any other scion or toyota shift knobs work on it?

Can the knob actually come off?

If it can, then the shifter looks almost identical to the auto one in the solara.

The Yaris Hatchback RS model in Canada comes with a leather wrapped automatic knob, you could probably swap for that one...

if you can take it off and tell me which knob you would like I make a kit to fit any knob from a 5 speed onto an auto as long as its threaded.

It just unscrews. I took it off today. It is threaded, i'm unsure what size the threads are though. I'll ask my buddy and then report back

well the kit I sell is a little plug that fits inside of any shift knob and lets you thread it onto the smaller auto thread.

its 5 bucks

There's a company that Toyota uses, OBX. I have one of their shift knobs. it comes with all the adaptors. I can't remember exactly what the cost was, but it's on the aftermarket parts I posted that you can purchase through Toyota. You can also purchase them through Ebay, check out the link below:

I'm just wondering if shift knobs that are suppose to be for manuals can fit on the auto. I know it's a dumb question, but there doesn't seem to be too many good shifters for autos.

Well, if the auto knobs only screws off then you can fit a manual knob in there since most shiftknobs use screws to hold itself on to the shifter.

Bought a shift knob that stated for Manual Shift Only on the package. With the Yaris there is no "button" to press on an automatic shift in order to change gears. So most any "manual" shift knob should work in this application I would think. Here is a photo of what I switched to from the stock knob. This knob is held in place with 3 set screws.

Regards

From what I understand, most of the upper-grade toyota and lexus gate-automatic knobs use the same screw-on design as the Yaris and so, those nice leather and wood lexus knobs should fit (but are EXPENSIVE!) and then... there is this: http://www.auto-couture.com/interior/shiftknob/ nice looking wood aftermarket shift knob. (again... expensive)
