15x7 no fitski!
I recently purchased and installed a set of ROTA OS MESH 15x7 +35 with a hub bore of 57.1 .. I was very surprised to find that the front did not successfully clear the rotors, marginally. I had them installed with aftermarket lugs at Mr.Tire, the guy explained they dont like to install after market rims unless purchased from them but i assured him i did my research (here) and they would be fine. They put it in the air unmounted my existing four tires (185/60) and swapped them over to the new wheels, reinstalled, lowered, and went to back off the lift. Low and behold the front caliper dug across the inside of the front wheels, both sides, barely. In a bind with a not so happy pair of employees i went to advance auto parts right across the street and bought cheap, off the rack, non centric wheel spacers, claiming 1/4" thickness, which according to google converts to 6.35 mm. The tech installed them while we both verbally degraded the cheap un-authentic spacers, it did the trick. I drove home and have put approx. 60 miles on the setup to date. Last night when I returned home I check for tightness on my lugs, they moved ever so slightly before clicking in at 80#s. My question for you guys is how much spacer is too much Ive read a thread stating 5mms are okay. Tens are no dice! WHAT ABOUT 6.35? I rub slightly up front now btw, but thats for a different battle...
