Has anyone thought about running a MegaSquirt or a MegaSquirt II in a turbo Yaris?

Yeah, I hear you on that count. I might swap my FC Commander in my other car out for one just to play with it and see what I can do...

No harness for that yet, so one would have to be custom made -- not a big deal. I'd like to see how the ECU reacts to it --

Are you going to put one on and try it out?

No harness is needed. Well if you do not want to cut then yes. But most of the connection are simple to make. The main harness that goes from the ECU to the engine on the left hand side has all the wires that need to be tapped into.

I don't know how much power a turbo will make yet. I also don't know what I might want to change after installing and tuning.

I just said I didn't like internal wastegates, not that they are bad or don't work. If I have a choice, I choose external -- if I don't have a choice, I look at the whole package (with power needs in mind) and make a decision.

No one has an acceptable solution yet, including Todd, so we're waiting for someone to crack the ECU and/or come up with something less expensive than a standalone. After that, you'll see a LOT of turboed Yaris.

Like I said -- Todd seems to be a professional guy and his hardware looks great, but that is not a complete kit and it hasn't been installed in a Yaris yet.
(Todd did a motor swap on his Yaris instead, by the way.)

oh.

=/ my tuner is having problems with the tc's ecu too...it keeps compensating for hte changes that my aem f/ic makes

which by is an awsome management system. when it does work.

sorry i don't know very muhc about yaris, i just wanted to let you guys know that he's a good and respectable guy =) wooo.

Todd sent over a dyno of an xB running 9 pounds:

This is on a DynoPak chassis dyno (same thing Twins Turbo uses), which gives conservative and accurate numbers. Not bad!
