Missed the Last Auto-X

I missed the last few autocrosses and just found out someone else is running a Yaris. Gotta get my act together and start showing up for events.......

Back issues, namely a ruptured disk, has been my main reason for missing events, but even still it's about time to get back out!!

If you're pushing the car hard enough, you're going to encounter some serious loads on your spine. Rest first, race when healthy enough. =)

I know it's early, but I went ahead and installed the auto-x tires (cheap old Eagle GTs) to drive on for awhile and take one more road block out of the deal. I hope to run 2 events in July, one with Triad Sports Car Club and the other with NCR SCCA, hoping for good results.

If all goes well might even be able to make a few more mods to the car before the first event if not by the second!

Made it out to the Triad Sports Car Club's latest auto-x this past weekend. Only 2 of us in the standard STF class, others in both STF Pro and Novice, so there were other cars to gauge my progress off of. Well as I knew, I still have a lot of work to do, still totally stock suspension (rear bar only), and only a drop-in K&N filter. All the other STF cars were fully modified and running much better tires, I'm still finishing off my Goodyear Eagles.

Here are results from the weekends auto-x, if you look closely there are 3 more STF cars, 2 Pro and 1 Novice. As I said earlier, my car was the only one without suspension, intake, and brake mods. I can't wait to get some things ordered and installed on the car, hopefully before our next event!

Also there was another Yaris there with a Father/Daughter team running in HS and zero mods, not even tires added to their car.

Since I'm not trying to win any Championships, just trying to be competitive, I'm keeping it simple. Tokico Blues, TRD springs, crash bolts, Hawk HPS pads, Stop Tech brake lines, and I just got a great deal on a set of Kumho XS tires.
I've already got a set of Drag DR16s in 15"x7" to mount these tires on. I would like to add a cold-air intake and header as well as a strut bar and maybe even a different front sway bar, just not ready to spend a lot of money right now!
