My Oil Analysis 2007 hb 5 speed 123,994 miles

2007 Yaris 5 speed, HB purchased at the peak of the gas crisis in 2008 with 22k miles. I just had my first oil analysis and I am pleased with the results, but first a little history.

Vehicle mileage upon oil analysis 123,994.
74 mile per day roundtrip commute (all highway)
Original brake pads, front and rear.
Mobil 1 5-20
NAPA platinum oil filter
Plugs at 60 and 120k
Air filter every 15k
10k mile oil change interval
Militec-1 metal conditioner treatment every other oil change
5k mile oil filter change interval
SS250 oil filter magnet by Filtermag
EBay magnetic drain plug filter
Royal Purple manual transmission fluid
Hankook Optimo 100k mile tires

Blackstone Labs states: You are doing all the right things in regards to this engine, and based on the remarkably low wear numbers we found in your engines first sample, we'd have to say your engine is replying favorably to all your care. Universal averages show how metals typically look from this engine type after about 6000 miles on the oil. Your oil run was nearly as long, though metals read quite a bit lower than average. No fuel, water, coolant or other excessive problematic was found. Try 7000 miles next. Nice!

Not sure what all that means, I just know I get 400 gallons on every tank. Those with a greater knowledge of oil analysis, please chime in.

**Sorry I couldnt scan the doc at home. My printer/scanner is acting up. Ill try to post the complete doc tomorrow when I get to work.

"purchased at the peak of the gas crisis in 2008" - LOL, I had to read it twice because when I read or hear "gas crisis" I think of the oil embargo of the 1970's. We could only buy $5 worth of gas at a time and only on certain days of the week based on your license plate number. We also had to wait about 30 minutes in a line to get the gas. There was no "joy riding" what so ever during that time.

Quite an impressive report . Have you always used synthetic and a 5w-20 ? We just used Shell full synthetic 5w-20 for our '08 sedan and got good results . Just picked up another case of the SHELL full synthetic 5w-20 for $18.99 ( case of six : $3.17 per quart ) from BJs Wholesale . Here's how to read the oil analysis and our report from Blackstone . Row 1 is the SHELL synthetic 5w-20 , row 2 is SHELL synthetic 5w-30 , and row 3 is Pennzoil ( Yellow Bottle ) conventional 5w-30 . Thanks for your report .

Got the okay for the T.S.B EG018-06 ( 5w-20 ) from service center where the '08 was purchased and the executive office in California .

Those are some good results (to be expected) for the 1NZFE.

Mark293 , noticed one thing . The Calcium seems low at 965 . Makes me think there should be a 1 in front of 965 , thus 1,965 . Maybe you should contact Blackstone about that by e-mail or phone . They do make errors on occasion . Let us know if it's supposed to be 1,965 . Thanks for the reply of how long you've been running the 5w-20 . Gives more confidence for the use of a 5w-20 synthetic .
