Fitting sedan bumper cover on hatchback

My daughter wrecked the front end of her 2009 Yaris 4dr hatchback. The junk yard said the hood and bumper cover from a sedan would work, but not the headlights. I bought them and installed the hood...worked fine. then started to install the bumper cover but would not quite fit over the headlights.

Can I use the headlights from the sedan? Also could carve out the bumper cover to fit around the lights. Trying to do the least expensive and simplest repairs so she can get back up and running.

Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, the junkyard told you wrong.
You need Yaris hatchback hood, bumper and headlights.
Since you already bought the sedan hood and bumper, I cant help you any further.

The hood, hinges, bumper and bumper cover fit perfectly...the headlights only slightly interfere with the bumper cover.

Sedan headlights will not work with your HB fenders. The HB headlights are quite a bit deeper, extending much closer to the windshield than sedan lights do.

If everything fits fine besides the headlight to bumper fitment, and you're looking for the least expensive repair, I'd say hack the bumper for it to fit. Then pick up the correct bumper in the future.

I'm surprised the hood and bumper cover fit at all.

For a quick fix, it sounds like you could just trim the bumper cover and you'll be good to go.

I'd really like to see this.
