Check the ALT-S fuse. If it is bad, the alternator will not turn on and you will just run off battery power.

rider99 based on the electrical damage to the car. perhaps its not a bad idea that you get checked out too. You weren't grounded any more than the car was.
And while you may be feeling fine, your calcium and potassium are likely out of balance which could mean trouble in a few days. |

ALT-S?
If so, you may be looking at a damaged voltage regulator within the alternator.
