Length Difference?

My '08 3dr HB is getting up there in mileage and I'll be looking to replace it in the coming years. I'd like to stick with the car but could really use more cargo room. Thinking about going with an '07-'11 5dr HB model and would like to know how much longer it is compared to the one I already have.

How did they fit the extra doors? Doesn't make sense but okay. Thanks

The front doors are shorter on the five-door. It works since nobody has to squeeze through to the back seat.

More of, the doors are longer on the 3-door. tomatoes tomatoes, i know, but the 5 doors usually have the edge of the door aligned with the rear of the front seats, while the 3-doors' edge have it past that.

Look for a sedan. HUGE trunk, four doors, same great economy and better looks. IMO.

That's exactly my feeling. I don't know why, but for some reason I just don't like sedans.

I own both 3 door and 5 door Yaris and I really find the 5 door to be some much more practical. Even for little things like reaching back to put the seat backs back up the 5 door just makes life so much easier.

+1 for not liking the sedans

They didn't have the 5 door back when we got ours (2008). If they would've, that's what we would've gotten for sure.

When I heard the 5dr was announced, I was all hyped. Thought about trading our 3dr in on one. Then, saw it was only available with an autotragic trans. C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!

Hey, fair go guys. Some of us really love our sedans. I must admit though, that I did not buy my sedan but inherited it when it was 14 months old when my Dad passed. It was a very plain white YRS with steel wheels and hubcaps. I fitted alloy wheels and some subtle graphics on the side and it really grew on me. It has a useful large boot. I may be wrong but I think the sedan has the extra length as knee space in the rear compartment. It has a towbar fitted and, at times, I tow a light trailer. Mainly rubbish to the dump.
regards Muz

I used to drive a 05 3doors hatch (1st gen), but then road noise and the manual windows and mirrors have me moved on to a 07. I wasn't just going to trade a 3doors hatch for another 3 doors hatch, so i took a sedan for the larger trunk space.

I have to say that the sedan isn't very appealing if it doesn't have the S body kit and spoiler.

there is a reason the federal government puts outfits people in the witness protection program in yaris and versa sedans.....nobody will ever remember seeing them , as they are the most run of the mill things on the road.
