i'm not really certain on what brand of lowering springs you should get.. i went to one of the car accessories shops in my country and they said tanabe springs are of the same quality as tein springs.. well that was of course after i asked for tein springs for my Yaris in which case they haven't accquired tein springs for Yaris..

I'm planning to get Tein Springs for he Yaris sometime within this week hopefully they're still available at that certain tyre and wheel shop.. (The springs aren't the normal green coloured ones, the ones i'm gonna buy are golden brown coloured and costs about BND$498 (roughly US$315) and they're the only set available there....

Checkout this link...

beware of counterfeit products...

TEIN build REAL great products. And TEIN are one of the only TRUE JDM manufacturer... not a USA or CHINA company who try to build aftermarket parts for Japanese cars.

Tein is best at its field.

In my opinion you should buy a Tein Basic coilover suspension, which includes lowering springs, shocks and sway bar.

No, ALL Tanabe parts are made in Japan. TANABE is overall better than TEIN. Tanabe's customer's service is excellent.

TEIN's struts are made by Tokico USA which is manufactured in the US, totally different from Tokico Japan.

wow, a lot of misinformation in this thread.
tein's lower level products are not made in japan, and they do not have a factory in the us.
all of tanabe's parts are made in japan.
i recommend tanabe anyday, i'm sure c2 agrees.
i would never buy tein parts below their ra series of coilovers.

The cheap TEIN series are not good. However, anything from coilover and up is great.

Was talking to a few friends having experience with changing springs but not the shocks, all of them said you WOULD want to change the whold set, as there's nothing as aftermarket springs designed for stock shocks. As the shocks will bust very soon, and it happened to them. Any input in this?

But my point is, the aftermarket spring maybe designed for the stock shocks, but the stock shocks is not designed for the aftermarket springs. Has anyone thought of this problem?

youre absoloutely right

in MY opinion gat some full suspension Kit

such as Cusco or Tein

those are realy the 2 only compagnies that i trust

just to give you an idea

on my 2004 echo hatchback

i had over 6 type of suspension

had stock ...wich sucked

had gr2(kyb) and Tein Htech sold them to a guy that does lapping and autocross...he's very satisfied

i had gr2 with tanabe spring those springs were awfull on the road

had tein Ha coilover kit 16 way ajustable those were right on!!

had also tried koni yellow (wich is not worth the money...) with t stech bad combo oil shocks are for trac use not realy suited for a everyday car the 15" wheel rubbed like crazy in the front same wheel then when i had the other suspenssions ...

and finally i got back to Tein coilovers SS (wich is the exact samething as the HA. the ss did not have helper springs thats the only difference)

in MY oppinion Tein coilovers are realy great

and i'm getting some for my yaris

and yes the coilovers were made in japan and yes they have facilitys in US (just to rebuild/revalve struts/shocks)

the spring were made also in japan as far as the Htech and Stech
