Took a 3000 mile trip in my new Yaris

My brother and I took a trek from Dallas,Texas to Southern California in my new Liftback...

We went to SuperAutobacs in Garden Grove, California and found this on display in the parking lot...

It was a very smooth trip, fuel economy was from 32 mpg in the mountains to 41 mpg on the Pacific Coast Highway.

My only gripes are...
1. I didn't have cruise control
2. I don't have a center armrest

Other than that, the Yaris is an excellent cross country traveler. I only saw 2 other Yaris' during the whole trip. I saw about 25+ Prius Hybrids during the whole trip, 6 of them in the Grand Canyon area.

Here's some math I did on the trip...

California Trip 11/06

Fuel Costs
Total mileage - 3341.3
Vehicle Odometer Mileage - 5398.1

Fuel stops:
Gallons Price Rate Location
6.829 $14.33 $2.099 Chevron Fort Worth,TX
4.394 $9.40 $2.139 Skinny's Abilene,TX
4.298 $9.45 $2.199 Exxon Midland,TX
7.835 $16.45 $2.099 Mobil El Paso,TX
3.448 $8.27 $2.399 I-10 Chevron Deming,NM
7.470 $17.55 $2.349 Express Stop #514 Eloy,AZ
5.351 $12.52 $2.339 Chevron Yuma,AZ
5.382 $13.99 $2.599 Shell San Diego,CA
3.881 $9.93 $2.559 Chevron Phelan,CA
7.930 $20.61 $2.599 Shell San Diego,CA
5.770 $16.15 $2.799 Shell Las Vegas,NV
5.549 $15.53 $2.799 Shell Seligman,AZ
4.410 $10.58 $2.399 Shell Flagstaff,AZ
9.439 $21.70 $2.299 Trailswest DQ Edgewood,NM
6.704 $14.68 $2.190 Love's Amarillo,TX
9.303 $19.34 $2.079 QuickTrip Haltom City,TX

Totals:
97.99 $230.48 $2.35

Average Fuel Economy - 34.1 MPG

cool! Glad to hear everythign ran fine, I'll probably be taking a long drive with my cousin for the holidays, though nowhere near 3000 miles (this country isn't quite that big!), but about 300, I'll be sure to share my experiences

Congratulations machine1 on the smooth completion of such a long journey!
Nice pictures!
You know, the centre armrest can be purchased from Toyota.
And eTiMaGo, I am looking forward to hearing about your trip. Bon voyage!

Thanks for the comments everyone :)
I saw the center armrest in the toyota optional accessories, I'll probably get it for Christmas, lol.
I just finished calculating the trip, I added it to the end of my original post.

Looks like you had a good trip. My first long trip will be in January when I travel from NYC to Ottawa Canada. Only about 900 miles round trip in all but from what you enjoyed on your trip I think mine will be even better since I have cruise control.
