Thanks! Toyota stopped offer this color since they launched Yaris MC (2010). It was available only between 2006-2009.

In a vacation with Yarii

I was on vacation at the Black Sea with my family, and these are pictures of my Yaris, fully loaded with: 2 big suitcases, 3 large bags, a stroller and a folding baby's cot. Crusing with 140 km/h (87 mph) on the highway was not a problem, the problem was reaching this speed with my 998cc engine :)

Two weeks ago I changed Denso original spark plugs with Denso Iridium Power IKH20 spark plugs. I feel a little improvement when I accelerate.

Today I replaced the original shift gear boot with a custom made leather shift boot. It was sewn entirely by hand ("old Chinese mother" work...) by a young lady, and the result looks perfect. It has three sides. Unfortunately pictures are not very good ...

I have not written recently on this topic, at my last post my ODO was 30,000 Km, so i will do a a brief of what happened with my Yarii:

ODO 33,700 km
  • i changed water pump, old one made by AISIN was broken, i replaced with OEM Toyota 16100-80007 (actually an AISIN pump, but a revised model). My car was out of warranty, so i paid about 145 USD for pump, coolant and service labor. I read that cars with 1KR-FE engines, sold before 2009, had installed a bad engineered pump
  • after using only original TOYOTA oils, i switched to Motul oils: Motul 8100 Eco-nergy 5W-30 for engine and Motul Motylgear 75W-80 for manual gearbox. I was satisfied with engine oil, but gearbox one was not good, i had problems to shift gears with cold engine and i couldn't get into first gear from slow running, only in full stop

ODO 42,850 km
  • changed oils to RAVENOL line, and i used RAVENOL FEL SAE 5W-30 for engine and RAVENOL MTF-3 SAE 75W for gearbox. MTF-3 was the only one i found that was tested by manufacturer and given as fully compatible with original TOYOTA API LV, GL4 SAE 75W (oem code 08885-81001). Now my gearbox is "back on business" shifting gears like new. But the happy one is my engine, with Ravenol oil is running much smoother and more silent, even i have only 3 cylinders

ODO 43.440 km
  • changed front brake pads with Brembo P 83 085. It was a budget choice, but until now, after 1500 Km i have no complains

ODO 44.875 km
  • a few days ago i manage to achieve a new personal best record in fuel economy, reaching 4.1 l/km (57.37 US mpg) on a 215 km round trip, with an average speed of 60 Km/h (37.38 mph)
