When I was a teenager, NOBODY drove a 4dr sedan unless it was their parents car!!! and........2dr Coupes were better than 2 dr sedans!!! Then came 2dr hardtops (circa 1954-55) and they became the hot ticket.

Guess it stuck, because we still prefer the LB. A sedan is a sedan. Not having any kids also helps, although our daughter survived riding on the shelf behind the seats in our '74 Alfa Spider - grossly illegal today!

no such thing as a sedan version here

Although we do have the Vios, which you could consider a sedan equivalent of a Yaris here, same engine, same platform too I believe, but the interior is much different.

It's a decent car, but the one thing that will always turn me away is that they used Britney Spears for the advertising when it first came out, and that will always and forever put a black mark on this car for me. No offense to Britney fans.

And anyway yeah hatches are a lot sportier and versatile

I don't know why... maybe it is my "American-ness." I just don't think a hatch that small should have four doors.

Its... just... unnatural.

Having said that, I am partial to the five door liftbacks. I would never own one (I am a single 21 year old male... two doors is plenty, don't want her to think I'm ready to use a third!) but I took Siphon mag into work today and all my boys I work with who have been teasing about my tiny ass car were taken aback by the five door s/c Blitz Yaris... but mostly about the fact that there is a 5 door version in existence. It does make the car a lot more practical.

She really does need her eyes checked...that would be the color I get when or if I got a Yaris hatch. I like that color a lot, and it seems fitting with a funky looking car.

I agree! My second choice would've been Meteorite Metallic. Polar White is pretty nice but it's too hard to keep clean. I've owned white, black, and silver cars before my Yaris and I fell in love with this blue!

I like hatchbacks and think they're the best way to design a compact car. Never understood compact cars with a trunk, because a hatchback can generally give you more luggage flexibility without sacrificing passenger space when you're not lugging boxes (assuming both designs within the same vehicle length).

Over time, I've also grown to dislike the Yaris sedan... in the few times I've sat in the back, I've wondered why did the vehicle have a trunk? Because there could have been so much more space in the passenger compartment given its length... but that's just me... I'll only want a trunk in a large luxury sedan...

COME on boss. He only said that he thinks sedan's are ugly, thats his buisness. it sounds like you are the one with a bit of a problem if someone having a negative opinion about a car design is worth being enemies with him

I'll second your second! Only had 1 4-door car which I drove for over 10 years. The only time I used the back doors was when the front doors were frozen shut. Hope to NEVER have more than 3 doors again!

That is very true. I was able to fit a fridge from Costco thru the hatch. Try that in a sedan.

I guess its time for me to throw mine into this thread. Im going to get 3 inch high density foam and 1 1/2 inch memory foam and create a bed in the back with a plastick layer over the top for storing camping stuff or other goods. Then when i go out with my woman we can pull up on the side of the road, lift the hatch and watch the stars, making love with the heater on. Or we can drive down near the beach or a lake and watch the seagulls or geese...again, eventually making love in the back:) Try to do that in a Sedan...its going to be a very different experience. lol. Anyway, then if i could have id have gotten the five door so i wouldnt be embarresed when im taking friends out. but hatch over sedan anyday! alot more romantic possibliities with it!
