I was in the middle of a real nice one...Chino got all over me about whether our MAF meter needing cleaning or not, claiming that ours didn't because it had no wires to get dirty, said ours measured flow with light and mirror(s)--OBD 1 design --big hissy fit, thread closed...short time later I found Chino giving advice to a member to clean his MAF meter because that might be the source of his performance problem (ooops)

wow.... like, wow. <sigh>
I've been away for a while, not really personal choice, but to come back to this.

The hack was, terrible.
The lack of foresight on backups, unforgivable.
The enthusiasm of the then mods rallying the YW community, unforgettable.
Act of DIY's sabotage, shameful.

Sabretooth, I'm with you 95% on your comments.
Current mods, hope you realise what you've bitten off.

Thomas, Echo and probably a few others whom only now swing past
anonymously, thanks for your genuine enthusiasm, humor and advice.

All we can do is try to do is move forward and create a friendlier more fun environment for everyone. The past is the past, lets move on to better days ahead.

True enough, but as that was not the case we should look to the future and see where it takes us.

I'm sure you're right, but it doesn't take a car expert to delete spam threads.

People come and go, you never know what might happen in the future.

Mod's should be those who can actively change a website, edit bad posts, fix problems, and take out spammers.

Mod's should not be "knowledgeable" people in my opinion. What would be the point to give the ones that know most, a bigger ego?

Never seen a website run right, by only promoting those who know everything. Those people can not always do the best job. (this is not a graphics design website or a game website so can't compare it to that_

Lafiro, you just put your finger on it.

Not that it isn't an honor, but it's also a job.

We can't exactly "actively change the site" though, and I believe that limitation was the source of the frustration for guys like Thomas for instance, who did love the site and put a lot of effort into it but felt their hands were tied.

1st, i did say i wouldn't take anything away from the new/current mods so, there is no need to infer that i feel they are not qualified to do the job...

2nd, because it is a job, i feel like those that have been around a bit longer deserve the opportunity first, if interested...obviously, someone who has been here longer has more experience related to pre-hack info and about the forums overall...experience goes a long way...

3rd, regardless of wether or not u agree with the idea of mods being yaris knowledgable, (which i still feel is important simply because it lends itself to being able to answer questions more effectively) this has nothing to do with egos because anyone can catch an ego...knowledgable or not...

at the end of the day, i show full support to the current mods but, still feel as i do about the above...

Oh, don't take what I said in a bad way, I have nothing against any mod's previous or current.

I still see them the same as other posters.

I just wouldnt want to see any more knowledgeable mods remove a post, even mine like before, without any concent, knowledge, or discussion first.

Thats the only problem I have with people having too much power.
