I have the same problem, sound like a "cheap" car with after market piece of crap on the exaust system.

Hi!
I'm just wondering if you have any idea on the cost of fixing a cracked manifold? Any help would be appreciated!! |

If so the part on ToyoDIY is listed at $216 ... I'm guessing this will run you upwards of $400 from the dealership for the part alone so the repair will most likely be over $1000. |

Is this a part that I can order from anywhere and bring to my mechanic?

to littleredhatchback, i dont know where in toronto u are but if ur exhaust header is cracked just go to the wreckers and get a newer one. the closest junk yard to me has about 5 or 6 echos that use the same 1.5l vvti engine as us and i get all my parts off these echos (stupid OCV....)

OK I went to the dealership today and I am happy to report it's now FIXED! No more cheap car sound.
They said it was a gasket in the exhaust someplace (they called it a donut?). I can get the part # from the invoice if you'd like. Total cost was $175 part & labour. I AM HAPPY. |

if they were calling it a donut it was most likely the gasket between the manifold and the start of the exhaust. Thats what I refer to as a donut gasket

I agree with ECC_33 it would be the gasket shown in this pic (far left, no label).... This could be a yaris exhaust, but i'm not sure - just for illustrative purposes... mine doesn't look like this |

To Vinceb, I think that's the gasket they were talking about - it was actually $48 for the gasket and $28 for whatever else ... the rest was labour cost lol. I know I could have brought this anywhere but USUALLY I get some deals when I go to the dealership... like this time they re-adjusted my rear breaks and also tightened my serp. belt for free. EDIT: Part # for the gasket is 17451-21070 (for a 2007 hatch) The bolts are 90901-05020 x 2 and the springs for the bolts are 9051-35036 x2 |
