Question simota cf cold air

Ok, so I was trying to install the simota cold air and I could not for the life of me figure out where the freakin bracket goes to hold the s.o.b up, I gave up on the cold air pipe, so right now I'm just trying to get at least the bracket to hold the intake.

The picture of the intake install was so dark it may as well been no instryctions at all. I couldn't find a decent pic to go by

I tried that, and it won't line up with the clip. I just found a pic... ya ya I know search more.. and it looks like it goes where every other one goes, but when I tried it it didn't fit right. Maybe its just a big PITA to get it in there.

I guess ill try it one more time, sorry for posting a useless thread, mods can close unless some one has a trick for me

Is this the picture you found? I've no experience with this intake, but if you got the same two pieces for the support, looks about as straight forward as it gets. Did you try putting the support in place before the filter?

^ that's my car it is a big PITA to ge tthe bracket where I did. It is where the stock bracket went re-use one of the bolts. It looked like the best place for it and the pic on the instructions sucks. I had to bend the bracket a little too. I found the best way to install the down tube is to take off the front bumper and feed it up through the space between the headlight and frame. But go over the wires there becauseif you don't then there is a little metal sensor that the down tube will rattle against it started to wear a hole through the down tube

I have the SRI in my sedan. The bracket that the OP is referring to, I did not use because the filter was fitting tightly against the end of the engine bay. The intake stays firm and I hear zero rattle. The filter does not rub against the inner wall of the engine bay either.

Your bracket installation is not correct and therefore it won't line up. You are supposed to attach the Simota bracket to the original one which should be left attached in the car. It looks brass/bronze colored. You could fab a bracket like I did for my install.

Will do pics sometime today or tomorrow if you can wait.

I can wait, I have it as an SRI right now without the down pipe, it stays very well just clamped on without the bracket and hanging.

If I cant get this to work properly then I may sell this again, as even though I have this setup as an SRI at the moment, It has noticably less of a gain than the cold air I had in previously.

so yeah, when you can, post up a pic of your setup and Ill try again with the cold air portion

I also just noticed that I posted this in the wrong section, could a mod please move this to DIY?
