Tanabe Under Brace Install Question

After getting the TRD sway bar installed, I thought I might as well put in an underbrace , since it's relatively affordable.

Has anyone installed an underbrace before? What does it mean to drop the cross-member/ sub-frame, as stated in zackt69's post?
Does he mean that I should put a jack under the engine to support the weight, while I put the brace in?

Any additional tips would be great, thanks!
