Question I know this has been discussed but can I switch to synthetic at anytime

My car has 91000 and I want to make it last. I don't rack on miles like I did when I bought it. I think I did 30k + my first year. Anyways I read a few other posts but every time I read them they said the car was new, or they had some old ass car and ruined the seals after the switch. The yaris motor is a lot different than 90's cars. Just want to know if it's ok to switch. Thanks

I made my switch on my 04 corolla with 100k! and no leak! and it seems to run and start smoother when i did the switch. I made my switch for my yaris at 40k and also no problem

The synthetic doesn't ruin the seals, the seal had gaps in them because they were old. Synthetic is less viscous than regular oil, and thus can leak out of these tiny holes that conventional oil usually can't.

Mobil says it's OK. Why not try some Mobil1 High Mileage?

Shouldn't be a problem, I put synthetic in mine after 86k miles. And IMO, runs soo much smoother

Won't hurt a thing . The synthetic does quiet the engine a bit .

Mobil 1 has their own filters, I've heard good things about K&N, Purolators, Wix, Napa (Which I think is also made by Wix). Just use whatever you can find, except the cardboard crap.... (FRAM....)

I filled in my Yaris 07 Mobil1 Peak Life synthetic 5w50.
This oil is suitable for this motor?

What does Toyota recommend for the Yaris in Russia?
5w50 seems a little thick, especially when the weather turns cold. Here in the USA we use 5w30 or 5w20. The thicker oil shouldn't harm your engine, it will just lower your fuel economy.

If you aren't going to run a long oil change interval, any of the major brands would work. If I could only ever get one filter, I'd probably just buy a Bosch 3311. It's nearly identical to the Purolator Pure One without the yellow paint job. If I had to buy what they sold at Wal-Mart, I'd have no problem with the Fram Toughguard.

I was gonna do 10k intervals. I think I'll go with the bosch one. Is that a good pick?

If it's the Bosch Distance Plus filter, yes. That's the D3311 that comes in the plastic box. The regular Bosch 3311 filter would probably last that long, but for that many miles you'll want the best. This is the filter that I'm using right now.
