Unhappy No response from my Yar..

Hi everyone. My car is totally dead. There are no lights showing on the dash at all. The symbol in the factory battery shows OK, but I can't even turn the key. Any suggestions???

Have you tried rotating the steering wheel? I've had the steering lock engage a few times to where it wouldn't allow the key to turn until you released the pressure on the tumbler. If not, then you may need to replace the tumbler. If that happens, then you need a new key, and possibly an ECU re-flash to get the ignition disable thing to work--assuming you have that feature.

Do you have an immobilizer? To check, see if your ignition cylinder has a black plastic ring around it.

I think you should give one or two symptoms so that we can give the correct solution. By the way, have you checked the starter motor? Also check the loose connections in starting system of the car.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your imput. I tried boosting the car... it started smoothly. the daytime running lights came on after a couple of minutes. I let it run for 10 or so minutes. Once I turned off the engine, the dome light is very weak as well as the only symbol on the dash ( door ajar ). Now, after two hours, the ignition switch can be turn but no response...only the engine, battery, door ajar and oil lights showing on dash. When turning the key to start position I can bearly hear a very weak sound.

This is what happened to my car the other day, and it turned out to be the battery. Just replace and drive on my friend!
