I wanted a Fujita one, but they only make it for manual trans right? I like the mean sound it produces. I didnt notice any sound diff with my AEM.

Stock airbox with the silencer tube removed, and the drop-in TRD filter from Japan. Sounds a lot better, and seems to just pull a whole lot more. Will hopefully be doing a dyno comparison later in the summer.

I thought it was one of the Chief Designers at Injen that started Fujita?

Either way, I got the Fujita as well. Has some aggrivations during installation, but with all said and done, I really love it. My girlfriend calls my car the growling bunny.

Change the filter to any 3" ID filter, and it will be.

What's your basis for saying I'll be ok with 3" ID? The ID on this filter may already be 3" but doesn't the SMOG tech need to see a sticker with CARB serial #? Either way, i have 5 years until my first smog check so I'm not that worried.

So if I throw on a CARB legal filter I should be fine. Maybe I'll wait to see what the "chinotake" looks like and just sell my setup for that. Although I would really rather have that TRD knockoff quickshifter at this point. Thanks for the info Chris.

Home made job... the mockup for the famed (and tardy) "Chinotake."

Picture.jpg

Almost 2,000 miles now without a problem other than a little rattling in reverse caused by the lack of a mount on the mockup. It is a tight fit, but I'll be sure to get it secure before it makes its way onto the market. It is easily the most joyful thing I've done to my car. Now that it is warm outside, I roll my window down and tear through the gears and hearing that little hiss entering each and every gear (yes, even fifth) is awesome. Huge kick in power, smooth power band... couldn't be happier. Can't wait to finish her off.
