I'm sans Yaris now.... (Now I have a Chevy!)
I loved my Yaris to buy two of them (A 2007 S model sedan, which was wrecked and replaced with a 2007 base hatch)
But I got tired of the two doors, and although I had installed cruise control, let's face it - these cars aren't great on the freeway. I also wanted to drive for Uber/Lyft on the side, and I couldn't do that with a two door car. Old hatcback. I decided to pull the trigger on a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic hatchback LTZ 6-speed manual turbo. I've had a crush on these since they first came out, and they drive great. |

Congrats on the new purchase!
That car looks like a lot of fun, I just cringe at the issues it'll likely have that the Yota wouldn't have had. My bias: I avoid domestics like the plague Chevy isn't known for their turbo's and by the sounds of the issues w/ the turbo Cruze's they haven't nailed it down yet. Hope it serves you well and I do agree it is a much better Uber car then your 2 dr. Check the weight limit on the door panel, keep in mind if you're planning on fitting 4 adult passengers you'll likely be well over it. Most sub compacts like the Sonic and Yaris are mean't for 2 adults and 2 very small children with no cargo. Once in a while no problem, consistently it may become an issue.

I can understand your need for a 4-door car. The Sonic looks like a fun vehicle, but I'd never buy a Chevy... or any domestic. Nevertheless, I hope it serves you very well as your Uber ride.
BTW, I found my '07 and now my '14 to be "great on the freeway." It was just a matter of fitting them with the proper tyres. |

Uber requirement. At least it is here in Canada.

agreed, plus the rear stabilizer bar made a huge difference.

I've owned three; they're OK - but the steering is kinda vague and the gearing is very short which contributes to a buzzy freeway experience. I mean, I never felt uncomfortable in mine, and it was perfectly fine for the four years combined I owned them but the Sonic's a lot more comfortable.
My Yaris was cool, it was light and easy and was a little more eager to change direction - probably because it's only like 2200LBS. The Sonic has really hefty steering, a really resolved and sporty ride. It's also got a really tall ratio'ed 6Mt. At 70 MPH in 6th my car is barely turning 2k RPMS. The Yaris was more like 3200. I'll miss my Yaris, though! |

I was in a GM dealer getting my car e-tested and saw a brand new one of those on the floor.
Over $23,000 was list! This is exactly what I looked like... -----> |
