I'd love to but I normally work on the weekends. If it's one or the other, I have to do the sound only contest. Next year though, I might just do cruise in type shows.

I still think I can come away with the best sounding system...How did you guys judge that last year anyway? Was it simply based off being loud? Or did we have some type of objective goals to meet like the sanctioning organizations do?

Last year's sound contest got canned due to not having the proper noise permit. And the ONE guy working across the street on a Sunday called the cops after the pop off contest. It'll be based on quality of sound and installation quality. Both over the top instals and hidden have their pluses :)

Ok updates! Pricing has been added to first post. Also we have a discussion thread for the trophy list so feel free to chime in on that thread or don't blame us.

Why don't you contact Moe Sabourin at IASCA to make the sound off portion a sanctioned event? ...yes, I have his contact information. Also, I'm a certified IASCA judge. :)

I also don't know where you guys buy your trophies, but trophykits.com is a damned good value. Take a look at them. I was able to arrange a really good price for mine at my show this last weekend.

^Done. Hopefully you guys can get a good value out of the trophies. I was really happy with them.

BTW, if you guys do decide to do a sanctioned sound off, there are IASCA judges in the Seattle area (Drew Snapp and Sanjay Frank). I'd also ask for Travis Chin from Eastern Washington to be your head judge. GREAT guy.

I just put some Elemental Designs 6.5" components in my xA so I know what you mean. It's Yaris-ish in some ways :) Yes at the very least we will have a decibel reader so we can atleast tell you how illegal it is turned up lol.

Sweet......I blew my DLS accidently on the install so changed them out for a set of JL comps....not quite the same but still very good sounding.

Gonna be a fun show,my car should be fairly back together by then too...no where near done but at least showable....

See you guys then...

...Now HTF did you blow the speakers up? I want to hear this one.

You realize that Derick and I know a LOT about sanding...

If we have an opportunity next time, I'd volunteer to do SQ judging. I'd much rather have it sanctioned but I can do an unofficial SQ judging. I'd be hitting accuracy of staging, imaging, depth, width, height, tonality, and ambiance (amongst other characteristics). If I was the only SQ judge, I wouldn't compete with my car due to a BIG conflict of interest.

Next year's event we should really look into this possibility.

Registration now open! See first post for link. Get those grass spots while they last!

And we'd love for you to volunteer next year to do just that!
