Good winter blades that will keep contour in very cold weather.
UPDATE:
Decided on this brand. https://www.amazon.ca/TRICO-35-260-E...ype=automotive The issue is not moving the snow off the windscreen but the blade freezing so it leaves a missed spot where the center of blade is. Seeing cars have somewhat different contour to the windscreen what is the best for our yaris? I have read hingeless is the best? Dont want to buy before finding the recommended winter blades do not work too well on the yaris windshield. One example of what works well for some and not so well for others.Probaly because different length blades and contour of wind screen? https://www.reddit.com/r/Calgary/com..._wiper_blades/ I may give these a try...? https://www.costco.ca/TRICO-Ice-Extr...100222330.html Last edited by Pinchlite; 12-13-2017 at 06:32 PM. |

The problem is not the cold. I've never had issues with metal frame wipers for the winter cold.
It's only when it snows, and weather is warm, so the snow melts a bit and freezes overnight, then things won't go well. That said nothing beats OEM metal frames for contouring the windshield. I haven't had a frameless blade since Walmart doesn't sell the viewmax 13" anymore, and is still hard to find a 13" frameless wiper blade for my sedan... Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk |

Not the same car, but I found the the last gen Camry driver side blade was the length I was looking for. It's a hybrid of plastic and metal, hinged and very aerodynamic. Works perfect and now I can just buy factory refills for it cheap.

Bosch Icon for me. I've changed the 26" driver side to the Icon in June 2016, and put a Anco one on the passenger side and rear.
These holidays I've purchased a 13" Icon for the passenger side, because in 1.5 years I've been trough 2 Anco blades while the Bosch Icon is still doing great. Now both sides are doing great, I live in Montreal and we get ice storms and shitty road weather as well as very hot summer. |

Holy thread revival!
I hate the bosh icon. They don't work well, and don't last long. At least, they aren't worth the price imo. We have them on all the cars at work. Our garage only install those, and they do really crappy. They need to be changed every year. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk |

Wonder how long the other brands would last if you're only getting a year out of your Icon. |

About 2 years. Original wiper frame from 2006. Been getting blade refills from dealer every other year.
Even the Michelin blades from Costco Mazda5 is on its 2nd year. Although, I believe we are running on a 2nd year with the icon on the Mazda5 at work. But they perform worse than the Michelin now. Just too bad they don't make the Michelin in 13" Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk |
