My horn install...

Thanks to Meteorite Marty's info, I went with the JDM Toyota Premium Horn kit from JDMPit on eBay. I had no issues with JDMPit - they shipped the horns and harness promptly. It was only about three business days from placing the order to receiving the package(!)

I'll try adding a few pics of my experience. Please don't flame me for how dirty my car is - midwest winters suck.

Finished install. Note ground wire connected to bolts.

Although obvious, be sure to have something soft to put the bumper cover on BEFORE you start!

Stock horn before cutting out hole to access other mounting hole in body. Stock hole is threaded, second hole is not.

This shows the second hole prior to cutting the plastic.

I used the medium spacer to set the horn away from the radiator. Note the cutout in the plastic (like Marty did) for the second horn.

Although the spacer did set the horn away from the radiator, it wound up being a bit close to the back of the grill once the bumper cover is installed. Your call if you want to do this.

The horns sound like a "normal" car. Good strong horn (like they all used to have). Install was easy, although ~45 degree temps made some of the plastic brittle - I snapped off one of the three tabs that hold the bumper to the fender. Even with two of three tabs left on the one side, though, the bumper still reinstalled just fine.

Because they're "plug and play" these Toyota horns are well worth the $125 cost. Thank you again to those that provided info on this project. Hope my pics help those considering this mod.

Yeah, what did u pay on that? Looks like a pretty worthwhile mod since the stock horn is so weak.

Sorry about the delay regarding the price. I paid about $125 for the horns/harness. Pricey, but simple OEM plug-and-play.

Wire Color Identification

Hello Goose,

Do you recall which color wire was from the horn button, and which was from the fuse for the original horn?

Cheers!
