front fan knob broken? pls help

Dear all,
I have a toyota yaris year 2006.
I recently tried to move my fan air circulation from outside to recirculate. However, the knob got stuck and while trying to unstuck them, it broke down. I cannot change the air management option anymore and it is stuck on recirculate air.

I have looked into youtube and some forum and noted someone has been able to repair this knob by removing the front cover and by replugging the connector.

However I am unable to remove the front cover of the fan. I have been able to remove only the side cover, but the front cover seems to be stuck by the radio cover, which seems impossible to dislodge, without first unscrewing the radio.

Can anymore please help me out there, you will be of tremendous help

Thank you

Michael

You just need to pull off those black vertical pieces first. Get your fingers under the bottom edge by the storage pocket and pull out. Once they are off, the silver piece with the knobs pulls straight off.

hi. I have indeed been able to remove the vertical pieces with no problem (number 1 & 2 as per picture above). However the number 3 should be removed to access the knob. since when I check the knob cover, it seems that it is in fact clip also to the radio cover.

Not exactly the same trim as yours, but the fasteners will all be the same. This link will show you how the instrument cluster trim and the radio bezel clip together.

That is correct. You will need to remove the radio mounting screws and pull the radio forward a bit to allow the AC panel to come off.
