Double side tape from visors

My husband took the vent visors off today so he could paint them the color of his car. Problem is that he cannot get the old strips of double side tape off. does anyone know how he can get the tape off without damaging the paint on the doors???

I've heard advice ranging from heat (hair dryer) to goo-gone.

make sure he doesn't rub TOO HARD on the paint. i tried getting tree sap off my roof with some bug/tar remover with unfavorable results.

GooGone is an excellent product to have on the shelf. WD-40 will also remove residual adhesive.

What do you mean can you get it at walmart? They have it available but.... no YOU are not allowed to buy it there

on a side note: do NOT rub/scratch it out with your fingers. I don't know about goo-gone, but if soaking too long with WD40, it seems to rub off the clear coat.
Actually, as long as it's not dry, you can rub it with a soft cloth, or a car wash mitt.

Definitely heat it up first. Use high heat setting. Then follow it up with goo-gone to remove the leftover residue.
